The Briary is a brick and mortar retail store in Homewood, Alabama. We specialize in smoking pipes and tobacco. We have operated in the Birmingham area for over forty years.
We began in 1974 as a Tinder Box franchise. Gus Elliott opened the shop in the newly constructed Brookwood Village Mall.
Skip Elliott took over the business in 1985 and has run the business ever since.
In 2000, Skip moved the shop to its current location just off Oxmoor Road in Homewood.
