Dan Tobacco - Midnight Ride 50g - Ribbon Cut

I hate it when reviewers start off by saying that they hate the genre of tobacco that they are reviewing and then proceed to bash it. So, I will just say that I am not a fan of latakia, but I am not bashing this one. First off, I realize that latakia is an oriental, but it would be nice if blenders would tell us if it is in a blend at all. This one is just labelled "Virginia, Orientals, and perique." Anyways, it has plenty of red Virginias in there, so don't forget to sip slowly. It can bite, but if smoked slowly, you'll be rewarded with big tastes that seems to shift in flavors with each slow draw. This definitely has interest to it, and the latakia is in small enough proportion that it doesn't bother me. In fact, it really adds to the flavors of the oriental small leaves that make up the blend. If you love latakia this will be a welcome diversion, and for Virginia lovers this will prove an interesting exploration into latakia and orientals. I highly recommend giving this one a try.
