For the past couple years, I’ve made pipes for Aubrey and Joe at Christmas. I’m a little behind, but I got them done. This is Aubrey’s. I had to get inventive with the bowl. I tilted it forward to keep the smoke out of his eyes. And, I put a nice sized bowl on there. He’s smoking while selling, so he’s got to have something that will last. The trick is to leave the shank thicker. I got all the proportions right that way.
The silver band pushes this tobacco pipe over the top. Not only does it give a pop of color but also provides the ornamentation that Aubrey likes in his smoking pipes. The stain’s nice too. The contrast. Shows. The grain of this Grecian Briar extraordinarily well. Get Aubrey to show you this tobacco pipe, the next time you’re around.
