Peter Heinrich's Dark Strong combines two classic ingredients, Kentucky and Red Virginias. Then, the blend is elevated with being aged before blending and after pressing. The flakes are thick and evenly cut, so the smoke should be cool and long. With the Dark Fireds, the body will rise to the medium to full level, and the flavor will reach there too. A room note of pure tobacco is what you will find here. This is a classic blend, so add a tin to your cart for a luxurious blend of traditional ingredients.
I was excited when this came in. Dark Fireds and Virginias make some of my favorite blends, so I wanted to see what Peter Heinrich did with it. The flakes work wonderful for my roll and stuff method. Plus, the flavor of sweet earthiness with a citrus accent is delightful. This tobacco blend is pretty heavy, so don't smoke it on an empty stomach. There is a touch of Black Cavendish in here too, but all this does is smooth the flavors and the smoke. I'd recommend this one for anyone wanting to try a mature version of Old Dark Fired.
