Gerado Papalia is a fantastic new pipe maker.  He has a wonderful eye for shapes and style.  His designs are so varied that they look like they were made by various pipe carvers.  I think he is one of Italy's most exciting new pipe makers.  See Gerardo Papali web site at  www.papaliapipe.com

Nice half bent pipe with rustication.  The exotic free hand shape is hard to describe.  The back of the bowl is flat.  The shank a very thin oval.  Tapered stem.  6 x 2.25 inches.

A highly creative abstract pipe with a very slight bend.  Beautiful grain all over.  This complex lines coincides perfectly with the grain pattern.  5-5/8 x 2.25 inches.

Once again Gerardo Papalia has out done himself.  This pipe is a treat to the eyes.  When have you seen a more artistic pipe?  Just look at the shapes that he created.  The shape is quite unusual yet comfortable to hold.  I think that this shape demonstrates why the Italian culture has dominated in the arts for all these years.  I feel that I should congratulate Gerardo for creating such a masterpiece.  I only wish that I could put in to words what this pipe reallly looks like.   2-1/8 x 5.5 inches.

Here we have a Italian version of  a cutty.  It has a nice long shank and terrific grain.  The hand cut acrylic stem has a delrin tenon.  6 x 2 inches.

This pipe is another example of Gerados' artistic ability.  It is a slightly bent creation.  I marveled over the subtle curves on the sides that give it a unexpected roundness rather than a boring flat panel.  He did a beautiful job with the stem.  Take note of the black trim on the edges.

Here is a pipe that is so beautiful that even with my 34 years of selling pipes I can hardly stop examining it.  Is it the flowing lines that make it so attractive?  Is it the exceptional use of the grain pattern?  It might be the contrasting treatment to the stain he used on the edges.  The beautiful stem has a olive wood inlay.  I believe that this pipe is too pretty to smoke.  2-3/8 x 6 inches.  Cumberland stem.

This is a very interesting straight pipe with a flat bottom.  It has a beautiful dark red stain with natural trim.  Excellent grain.  Small bowl capacity.  5.5 x 2 inches.

Highly abstract shape that defies description.  It is a beautiful walnut colored pipe with light natural trim.  This pipe fits in the hand well and yet is very complicated.  The walls are thick and the inside of the smoking chamber has been sanded smooth.  truly a fantastic pipe.  6 x 2.25 inches.
